Psalm 93-96

Tomorrow we'll hit the triple digits... Wow!

Until there here is a link for today's psalms at BibleGateway.com.

93) Remember that the waters represent chaos for the ancient people. The seas were a dangerous place. Floods were a sudden uncontrollable thing. God controlling these waters was a sign of power and, like the psalmist says, majesty.

94) Calling on the power of God to overwhelm the power of the wicked rulers that oppress the people.

95) Sounds like this should be another great song, if it isn't already.
In God's hands are the depths of the oceans and the heights of the mountains.
I think I forget just how formative and important the passover and Exodus were/are for the people.

96) Sing out to the LORD praises due to God! Let the while Earth sing the praises of God. All peoples, plants, and animals!

What are your thoughts as you read these passages?

  1. Familiar phrases, images from nature, praise and worship - these are psalms that resonate with me! Some things that touched me - 93: "robed in majesty, shall never be moved" 94 "when the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul." 95 "Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." 96 'Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised." and many more! A good selection today.!
