Psalm 73-76

Believe it or not we are half way through the Book of Psalms!

If you need them, here's a link to the day's psalms on BibleGateway.com

Here are my thoughts on today's psalms:

73) vs 16-20 - When I tried to comprehend how and why the wicked prosper while the faithful perish, I could not understand. Only you God know and see our ends. The wicked truely do perish while the faithful are blessed.

74) Hey God are you not seeing any of this?
What's going on?
Why are you not helping us out?
Don't you remember your promises to us?
We remember!
We remember all that you've done for us.
Hows about you wake up or pay attention or whatever you need to do and get it together!
We need you now more than ever!

75) So is it not so bad to be powerful and wicked so long as you don't boast about it? So long as you don't flaunt yourself you should be okay? Are being powerful and wicked synonymous, or can you have one without the other?

76) No one can stand prideful or powerful in the face of Glorious God.

Good luck on the second half of the book of psalms! What where your thoughts on today's psalms?

-Peter

  1. It was a different time when these psalms were written with physical enemies and oppressors. But do we often feel the same way......we feel oppressed....yet we don't recognize when we are the oppressors. How often do we object to others because "they are not like us." How often do we want God to take out his vengeance on "those people?" How often does our 'holier than thou' attitude come across to others? Pray that God does not take out his vengeance on us.
